Awesome blog on the mind...I relate too well to having my mind be in a million places at the same time. And rebooting!
I like the way you space the copy, i'll remember to use this.

Hi I-John,

great metaphor choice! indeed, I use the same one for phase 2 of a romantic sex relationship right after the couple of singles gets past the super chemistry charges attraction stage.

Great advice. I find it so helpful to make a list and also really helpful to put a nice big tick bite things as you complete them. It gives you a real sense of progress through the day and even if you don't end up finishing everything, you can look at what you have achieved and feel good about that.

HI John,

I found this to be your most relevant post so far as it relates it my psyche. Pushmi-Pullyu is so right! You've given some really good advice here for how to handle this. Thank you!

John, thank you for a wonderful post. I have been working on setting up a very similar routine. I will use your suggestions. Also, I have used a very neat "trick" that I learned from Eckhart Tolle. He says: whenever you cant stop your mind, silently ask yourself, I wonder what my next thought will be? This works every time, your mind just stops. Try it and let me know how it worked for you.

John,
Great blog post. This addresses what has been one of the toughest habits for me to form, i.e. focusing on one task at a time until I've completed that task. I'm going to use the technique of writing down what I'm working on on a big sheet of paper.

John,
Great words of wisdom. I struggle with distraction and I like the bedtime ritual.
I live in Jacksonville. Pretty much across the state from you.
